PTSD
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

If past traumatic experiences are still affecting you through intrusive memories, anxiety, hypervigilance, or emotional pain, you do not have to face this alone. I provide personalized, trauma informed care that focuses on the whole person with both clinical expertise and compassion.

What Is PTSD and Trauma Related Stress

PTSD is a mental health condition that may develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event such as violence, abuse, an accident, or any deeply distressing or life threatening situation.

While many people recover naturally, some individuals continue to experience thoughts, feelings, and reactions tied to the trauma long after the event.

Common Symptoms of PTSD

People living with PTSD may experience a combination of the following symptoms:

• Flashbacks or vivid distressing memories of the traumatic event
• Nightmares or recurring upsetting dreams
• Intense emotional distress when reminded of the trauma
• Persistent fear, anxiety, or feeling constantly on edge
• Avoiding people, places, memories, or emotions connected to the trauma
• Negative shifts in beliefs or mood including guilt, shame, hopelessness, or emotional numbness
• Difficulty sleeping including trouble falling asleep or staying asleep
• Problems with concentration, memory, daily functioning, or relationships

Every person’s experience is unique and PTSD can appear differently depending on history and life circumstances.
