Postpartum

Becoming a parent can bring joy, excitement, and major life changes. It can also bring emotional and mental health challenges. If you are feeling sad, overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected after pregnancy or childbirth, you are not alone. I provide supportive and personalized care for postpartum and perinatal mood concerns.

What Is Postpartum Depression

Postpartum depression is a mood disorder that can develop during pregnancy or after childbirth. It is more intense and longer lasting than the normal emotional changes many parents experience.

Baby blues are very common and usually improve on their own within two weeks. Postpartum depression can begin at any time during pregnancy or within the first year after giving birth.

Common Symptoms of Postpartum Depression

You may need support if you notice:

• Persistent sadness or low mood
• Anxiety or constant worry
• Feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope
• Trouble sleeping or oversleeping
• Fatigue or lack of energy
• Changes in appetite
• Difficulty bonding with your baby
• Irritability or anger
• Feelings of guilt or worthlessness
• Loss of interest in things you used to enjoy
• Trouble concentrating or making decisions
• Difficulty caring for yourself or your baby

If symptoms last longer than two weeks or interfere with daily life, an evaluation can help.

How I Provide Support and Treatment

Your care begins with a complete evaluation of your emotional health, lifestyle, sleep, stress level, medical history, and support system. From there, I create a plan designed for your specific needs.

Your treatment may include:

• Talk based support to help you process emotions and manage stress
• Medication management when clinically appropriate
• Education on healthy routines, sleep, nutrition, and coping skills
• Guidance on support systems and community resources
• Regular follow up to monitor progress and adjust your plan

My goal is to help you feel better, regain stability, and move toward long term emotional wellness.
